2016 IFTA GALA TELEVISION AWARDS TAKE PLACE TONIGHT October 7, 2016

The 2016 IFTA Gala Television Awards take place at the Double Tree Hotel tonight.

A number of Screen Scene posted shows are in the running for glory at this years ceremony, with Screen Scene stalwarts Garret Farrell & Michelle Fingleton nominated for the Best Sound category for their work on 1916 The Irish Rebellion. Fully posted here at Screen Scene, the three part documentary is also in the running for Best Documentary Series. John Brennan, who recorded location sound, is also a named nominee for his work on the show, which was scored by the uber talented Patrick Cassidy.

Audience favourite Daniel & Majella’s B&B Road Trip (VIP) is up for Best Factual series and All Ireland Day (Loosehorse) is up for Best Documentary Single, while First Dates  Ireland (Coco Television) is up for best Reality & Constructed Factual series, where it will compete with the Operation Transformation 5km Special (VIP).
