Brie Larson wins Golden Globe for her performance in ‘Room’ January 11, 2016

Brie Larson took home the award for Best actress in a drama at last nights Golden Globes for her performance in Lenny Abrahamson’s Room.

Larson beat out Rooney Mara, Saoirse Ronan and Alicia Vikander to win the category. Accepting the award, she thanked Room author Emma Donoghue and director Lenny Abrahamson, as well as young co-star Jacob Tremblay, who she called “half of this award, half of this performance.”  

Room was also nominated in the Best Picture (Drama), and Best Screenplay category at last nights event, which was hosted by the blistering Ricky Gervais.

An Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production, produced by Ed Guiney and David Gross, the movie was was edited here at Screen Scene by Nathan Nugent. Full sound post on the film took place here at Screen Scene and at Ardmore Sound. Screen Scene also provided all the films VFX.

Adapted by Emma Donughue from her own book, Room also Joan Allen and William H. Macy, and is set to open in cinemas across the UK and Ireland this Friday.
