CODA short-listed for 2015 Academy Awards November 7, 2014

Beautiful hand drawn animation, Coda, has been shortlisted for the 2015 Oscars!

Directed by Alan Holly with Ciaran Deeney Producing (And Maps And Plans), the short is one of ten films out of an estimated fifty eight entries to have qualified in the Best Animated Short category.

The result of two years of painstaking work by a small team of dedicated artists, the film, which tells the story of a recently deceased souls encounter with Death,  was produced under the Frameworks animation scheme funded by the IFB, RTÉ and the Arts Council, and features the voice talent of Brian Gleeson (Love/Hate) and Orla Fitzgerald (Wind That Shakes The Barley).

Sound Post for Coda – which also nabbed the award for Best Animated Short Film at the 2014 South by SouthWest (SXSW) – took place here at Screen Scene, where saucer eyed beauty, Michelle Fingleton, was the Sound Designer; tall glass of sideburns, Garrett Farrell, handled the mix; and fresh faced dandy, Andy Kirwan, provided the spot effects.

Huge congratulations to all involved — we’ll be counting down the days until the 87th Academy Awards nominations are announced on January 15th.
