Galway Film Fleadh award winner*, GLASSLAND, goes on nationwide release this April 17th, 2015.

Written and directed by Gerard Barrett (Pilgrim Hill), the riveting drama follows John, a young taxi driver on the fringes of the criminal underworld, who, in a desperate bid to save his mother from a crippling alcohol addiction and reunite his broken family, is forced to take a job drives him further into Dublin’s dark underbelly…

Starring Jack Reynor (‘What Richard Did’) and Toni Colette (Little Miss Sunshine), the film had its international premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this week, where it was met with rave reviews. Colette’s performance was hailed as ‘blistering’ by the Hollywood Reporter, with Indiewire declaring the film to be “a directorial triumph” before labelling Reynor’s performance as “career-making”.

Produced by Ed Guiney (‘Frank’, What Richard Did’, ‘The Guard’) and Juliette Bonass (‘Get Up and Go’) for Element Pictures, the film was Edited by Nathan Nugent here at Screen Scene last year.

Full sound post on the film was carried out at Screen Scene and Ardmore sound, where Steve Fanagan and Niall Brady handled Sound Design and Ken Galvin supplied the mix.
