Lenny Abrahamson’s ‘Room’ nominated for four Oscars January 14, 2016

Lenny Abrahamson’s ROOM has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Lead Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay at this years Academy awards!

Speaking to RTE earlier today, Room director, Lenny Abrahamson,  had this to say about his nomination: “I thought about it in the way that a little boy imagines scoring a winning penalty in a World Cup final – in that it’s one of these fun things to imagine. Nobody was predicting that I’d be there. A lot of people thought I’d done a really good job and maybe should be but nobody thought that I would be.”

Starring Brie Larson, who took home the Golden Globe for Best actress in a drama on Sunday night, Room is an Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production, produced by Ed Guiney and David Gross.

Adapted by Emma Donughue from her own book, Room also Joan Allen and William H. Macy, and is set to open in cinemas across the UK and Ireland this Friday.
