‘Ripper Street’ returns for new series on Amazon Prime January 21, 2016

Ripper Street is back! Series four of Tiger Aspect’s period police procedural arrived on Amazon Prime UK last Friday with a blistering feature length special.

The new season sees retired detective Edmund Reid (Matthew Macfadyen) drawn back to Whitechapel after he discovers his old friend, Isaac Bloom (Justin Avoth). has been sentenced to hang for a brutal murder; a murder which Reid believes he did not commit…

Screen Scene VFX (SSVFX) were one of two vendors that provided visual effects for the latest season of the hit Victorian crime drama, with VFX Supervisors Ed Bruce and Nicholas Murphy overseeing the on-set & in-house team here at our Dublin headquarters, where they were managed and scheduled by VFX Producer Kenneth Coyne.

SSVFX  have provided visual effects for every series of Ripper Street to date, winning numerous awards across the shows run; taking home the Gold at the Australian Effects and Animation Awards (AEAF) for two years in a row, as well nabbing top honours in the category of ‘Best Effects- Digital’ at the 2015  Royal Television Society ‘Craft & Design’ Awards.

SSVFX also received a BAFTA TV Craft Award nomination last March for their work on series three episode, ‘Whitechapel.’
