‘The Drummer and the Keeper’ and ‘Wave’ win big at Galway Film Fleadh July 17, 2017

Two Screen Scene posted films took home top honours the Galway Film Fleadh this past weekend!

THE DRUMMER AND THE KEEPER, written and directed by Nick Kelly was awarded the prize for Best Debut Feature!

An uplifting comedic story of an unlikely friendship between Gabriel, a rock ‘n’ roll party animal with bipolar disorder and an institutionalised goalkeeper who suffers from Aspergers Syndrome, the film stars Dermot Murphy,  Charlie Kelly, Adrian Hudson (Striking OutRebellion), Jacob McCarthy, Peter Coonan and Aoibhinn McGinnity. The film will be released in Irish cinemas on September 8th.

Moving short film, WAVE took home the awards for Best Short Drama and Best Cinematography in a short film.

A sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking story, Wave tells the story of Gaspar Rubicon, who wakes up from a coma speaking a fully formed but unrecognisable language, baffling linguistics experts from around the globe.

Directed by Benjamin Cleary and TJ O’Grady Peyton, the film was Written by Benjamin Cleary and Produced by Rebecca Bourke, with Burschi Wojner as the Director of Photography.
