Not content with splitting the Best Debut Feature award at this years Galway Film Fleadh, pant packing terror inducer CITADEL snatched up the ‘Narcisse’ Best Film Award at the Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival last weekend.

‘Citadel’ tells the nerve shredding story of an agoraphobic father forced to face a gang of twisted, hooded feral children responsible for his wife’s murder. Written and Directed by Ciaran Foy, the film features Aneurin Barnard (Ironclad, Hunky Dory, Guinea Pigs) in the lead role of Tommy, alongside Scotland’s finest, James Cosmo (Braveheart, Troy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Runway) in the role of The Priest, and Wunmi Mosuka (I am Slave, One Night in Emergency) as Marie, CITADEL is produced by Katie Holly (Blinder Films) and Brian Coffey (Sigma Films). Executive Producers are Kieron J. Walsh, Gillian Berrie and David MacKenzie. CITADEL was produced by Katie Holly for Blinder Films and Brian Coffey for Sigma Films with funding from Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board and Creative Scotland.

Since it’s world premier at Austin’s SXSW Film Festival, where it won the coveted Midnight audience award, the film has been gathering huge momentum, and now looks set to put the frighteners on cinema-goers the world over.

Full Sound post production for CITADEL was carried out here at Screen Scene and at Ardmore Sound. The Sound Designer on the project was none other than Steve Fanagan, who also served as re-recording mixer alongside Garret Farrell. Dialogue was edited by Niall Brady, while the Foley was provided by Eoghan McDonnell and recorded by Jean McGrath, with Michelle McCormack editing. Hugh Fox was the location sound mixer.
