With the full wealth of our expertise nestled snugly under one roof and your disposal, things have never been better for our sparkling dream team here on Upper Mount Street as Screen Scene’s ‘All together Now’ continues to drop kick happiness down the throats of all and sundry.
Today sees Broadcast Post Production Supervisor and Screen Scene beauty Queen Elish Sheridan, Online Editor Warren Dowling, VFX Supervisor Ed Bruce, and Sound re-record mixer Garrett Farrell come face to face for a blast of quick witted questioning and aggressive hand holding.
What are you working on today?
Warren: ‘What Richard Did’
Ed: ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, ‘Ripper Street’, ‘The Last Days on Mars’, ‘Loving Miss Hatto’ and general happiness.
Garrett: Peters patience…
Elish: Many things, all equally important, all equally neglected while I answer this.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
Warren:Filling out stupid questionaires.
Ed:Developing visual effects with creative people who enjoy what they do.
Garrett: Large Knobs… Ahem...(cough)… On the console obviously… Sheesh..
Elish: That I get to talk to people, I’m allowed to bother them. It’s my job.
What is your most marked characteristic?
Ed: Nerdy diligence.
Garrett: My ginger tinged lambchops.
Elish: I haven’t a clue!
What talent would you most like to possess?
Warren: The ability to lie.
Elish: Any talent would do. I don’t even have a party piece.
Garrett: Jennifer Hinde.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Warren: Unlocked sequences
Ed: Lack in diligence.
Garrett: Sunglasses indoors/at night. Unless you are Corey Harte that is.
Elish: I’ll never not hate grammatical incorrectness.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Ed: ‘Please check your work before submitting!’ , ‘Nico for F&*% sake, wheres my tea’, ‘I said two sugars not 3!’ and ‘Awesome!’
Honestly you’d have to ask those who work closely with me.
Garrett: “Take off the bloody sunglasses you’re inside”!!!
If you could be anyone else in Screen Scene, who would you be, and why?
Warren: Keith Jordan, he can get everyone else to do his work for him!!
Ed: Juangus Dinsmore. Haven’t yet met a more wonderful gentleman.
Elish: I’d be John O’Riordan, he’s proper cool.
What is your Favourite credit?
Warren: The credit you don’t have to pay back
Elish: My first credit! My granny rang me when she seen it, she thinks I’m famous now.
Ed: Visual Effects Supervisor on Game of Thrones, but my first ever visual contribution to the telebox was a HomeValue Hardware commercial which a young Hubert M was working. He invited me, whilst I was a runner 12+ years ago, to 3D model a lawnmower, wheel barrow and hose pipe. I did, he used them and I was very proud to see them on the tele.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Ed: In order of youth. Astronaut, International Rugby player, PE teacher, Engineer.... 3D artist, Visual Effects Supervisor.... am still waiting until I grow up.
Elish: Rich, I’m not even joking. I just wanted to make as much money as possible. Wait, it is kind of funny.
Warren: A Fire Engine
What is your motto?
Ed: Diligence, Diligence, Diligence!
Elish: All you can do is your best.
Garrett: Take off the bloody sunglasses!!!
Warren: One shit at a time.
What’s the Best thing about Screen Scene ‘All together now’?
Warren: The all togetherness of it all.
Garrett: The finest collection of beautiful people under one roof in Dublin. Not too shabby.
Elish: That it makes me think Screen Scene might one day put on a staff musical of the same name.
What is your Favourite sound?
Warren: The sound of Jango Fett’s seismic charges exploding in “The Phantom menace”
Elish: The sound of alarms going off all day, you miss it when it’s gone.
Ed: The sounds made as the flux capacitor is engaged.
Who will win the Euros?
Ed: Spain or Portugal.
Elish: Holland or The Netherlands
If you could read one fantasy Tabloid headline about yourself, what would it say?
Warren: Four months pregnant.
Garrett: Mutton chopped guitar maestro awarded Nobel peace prize for epicness.
Elish: Who shot Ryan Tubridy??
