With our lovable team of livewire magic makers all finally together beneath one roof, Screen Scene’s ‘All Together Now’ has set expressions to permanent smile mode here on Upper Mount Street.
Today sees Documentary, Drama and feature film Editor Nathan Nugent, VFX Production Co-ordinator “Stocky” Nick Murphy, Broadcast Editor Martha Meyler, and Hospitality Manager Jennifer Hinde come face to face for a round of quick fast questioning and spit fire frivolity…
What are you working on today?
Martha: ‘Footballs Next Star’ for RTE 2
Nathan: A feature Film named ‘Run and Jump’
Nick: ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, ‘Ripper Street’, ‘Loving Miss Hatto’.
Jenny: Making people’s dreams come true.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
Martha: Getting to work with great clients and interesting shows
Nathan: The view.
Jenny: Working alongside a bunch of crazies, I mean crazies in a good way!
Nick: Going on-set and gathering all things VFX because nobody has a clue what I’m doing and why I have a big silver ball and that scares people.
What is your most marked characteristic?
Jenny: Multi tasking I suppose…
Nick: Being Stocky, OBVIOUSLY!
Martha: My platinum blonde hair I suppose. Oh, that and my charismatic strut.
Nathan: Fear
What talent would you most like to possess?
Martha: To edit in my sleep
Nathan: Brain washing
Jenny: I’d love to be able to play the guitar or sing, or both preferably. I sound like a crow, and I don’t mean Sheryl.
Nick: Becoming as stocky as The Hulk
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Martha: When people don’t listen and ask stupid questions at screenings!
Nick: People eating loudly
Jenny: Princess behaviour
Nathan: Lactose Intolerance ... in pets.
Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
Martha: This is a very rough cut.
Nathan: But I paid for that
Nick: That is none of your business
Jenny: ‘Keith Jordan will you father my children?’
If you could be anyone else in Screen Scene, who would you be, and why?
Martha: Isn’t everyone just going to say Tracy?
Nathan: Niall Brady, because of his passionate defence of fox hunting.
Nick: Keith Jordan because he is a tank like myself.
Jenny: Jim Duggan, because power is sexy.
What is your Favourite credit?
Martha: Editor Extraordinaire (At least if I could have my way).
Nick: Game of Thrones.
Nathan: Man with Chips.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Martha: Apparently, a vet at some point, a concert pianist at another.
Jenny: A judge.
Nathan: Head of Channel Four
Nick: A Footballer for Manchester United.
What is your motto?
Martha: ‘Nothing worth having is ever easy’ or my other favorite ‘Never do anything you’re good at for free’
Nathan: ‘How long is this?’
Nick: ‘Fail to Prepare, Prepare to Fail.’
Jenny:’To each their own.’
What’s the Best thing about Screen Scene ‘All together now’?
Martha: Having everyone together is always gonna be a good thing! Get to see people now that I barely knew in 5 years here.
Nathan: Free Laundry service
Jenny: Having the commercials crew in my warm embrace of 31.
What is your Favourite sound?
Martha: The opening of a beer bottle after a long days work
Nick: I like the sound of horses galloping
Jenny: The tssssssssss sound tonic water makes when its poured over vodka and ice. Pub anyone?
Who will win the Euros?
Martha: Your guess is as good as mine, most likely better because I know little to nothing about football (see ans. 1!)
Nathan: England
Nick: Holland
Jenny: Ireland, definitely Ireland!
If you could read one fantasy Tabloid headline about yourself, what would it say?
Martha: “Editor extraordinaire wins at life.”
Nathan: “Skittle Car-Nut Day of Horror”
Nick: “Stocky Nick – FHM’s Stockiest Man 2012”
Jenny: “World’s most attractive woman wins lottery on same day Keith Jordan proposes.”
