METEOR IRELAND MUSIC AWARDS

The Meteor Ireland Music Awards 2010 will be broadcast from the RDS Dublin in what promises to be the music highlight of the year.

The star-studded music spectacular will be presented by international TV presenter Ireland’s Amanda Byram. Performing on the night to celebrate the 10 year anniversary will be the best in music, both home grown and international, including performances from Florence And The Machine, Paulo Nutini, Westlife, The Script, Bell X1, Pixie Lott, Temper Trap, The Coronas and Brian Kennedy and the Dublin Gospel Choir.

As with the previous years Irish music fans will be able to decide the winners of nine major categories: Best National D.J., Best Regional D.J., Best Irish Band, Best Irish Male, Best Irish Female, Best Irish Pop Act, Best Irish Album, Best Irish Live Performance and Most Promising New Artist for 2010. A further nine awards will be decided by votes cast by representatives of the Irish music industry with a total of eighteen awards presented on the night.

The event will be covered again this year by Screen Scene’s sister company Observe Outside Broadcast. Catch it on Sunday February 21st at 9pm on RTÉ2.
