
Outdoor digital advertising has boomed in the last number of years and here at Screen Scene we’re moving with the pack. Back in April we completed a set of six digital designs for the team at Young Euro RSCG for their Magners Campaign. Head of Graphics, Hubert Montag worked closely with the agency creatives to come up with the perfect design for each brief. “The actual design was done with Philip Elliot from Youngs. It’s all quite simple, quite graphic based, using live action footage from various campaigns that they shot over the last couple of years. The interesting thing about it is that we were working with all of these different formats, all of these different screens that they are using around the United Kingdom, some of which even have sound on them. Some come in unusual shapes like the one for Piccadilly Circus.” Probably the most unusual in the series are the ones used on escalators. The high def screens are placed on the side wall of the escalator and can have up to twenty screens in a series. “So they came up with the idea of using a series that worked together where you see a glass filling in the top screen and as you go down it fills up.” They can be seen everywhere from the underground in London to the big Screens in Glasgow and Manchester.
