Albert Nobbs is an upcoming film directed by Rodrigo Garcia, starring and produced by Glenn Close. The screenplay is based on a short story by Irish novelist George Moore, written by Glenn Close and John Banville. The film sees Close reprise her stage role about an Englishwoman who disguises herself as a man and works as a butler in order to survive in male-dominated 19th-century Ireland but whose deception leads her to an unusual love triangle.
The film features an ensemble cast which includes Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Brendan Gleeson, Pauline Collins, Maria Doyle Kennedy, rising star Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy and Kick-Ass) and Mia Wasikowska who was Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.
