First Wave

Following the outbreak of an aggressive virus, a young woman awakes in a hospital bed. As the horrifying events that led her there are revealed, it becomes clear that the cure is just the beginning.

So goes the synopsis for First Wave, the pretty God damn gnarly short film from Writer/ Director David Freyne.

Produced by Rory Dungan & Rachael O’Kane for Tilted Pictures, this jolting piece of work was made with the support of The Irish Film Board and posted here at Screen Scene by a load of people I get to hang out with on a daily basis.

Edited by Juniper Calder, broad shouldered manly beauty Warren Dowling onlined, while Gary Curran handled the Grade.

Sound Edit and Mix was handled by Emma “Cheekbones” Butt, with Elish “The Dish” Sheridan Supervising Post Production from her lofty perch up in Bookings.

VFX was supplied by SSVFX, with Kenneth “The Kink-Master” Coyne Co-Ordinating.

Whacking the excitement decibels up the eleven, the short is actually prequel for a feature film currently in development.
