White Collar Crime

2009 documentary saw RTÉ’s Aoife Kavanagh travel to the US to secure the only interview with Fr. John Skehan, the Irish priest at the centre of the Florida Priest scandal.

81-year-old Fr. John Skehan, originally from Johnstown in Co. Kilkenny, spoke exclusively to RTÉ just weeks before he began his 14-month sentence for Grand Theft.

In an emotional interview Fr. Skehan denied that he took millions to fund a lavish lifestyle, claiming instead he used the money for the benefit of parishioners. The documentary features unique access to the wealthy south Florida parish of St. Vincents Ferrer, where Fr. Skehan served for 40 years.

Produced by Animo Television and directed by Kim Bartley, the documentary completed post production at Screen Scene where Juangus Dinsmore and Paul Mullen edited, Ken Galvin mixed the Sound and Simon Thornton Completed Online.
