2016 IFTA award nominations for Screen Scene and Ardmore Sound March 14, 2016

We’re over the moon to report that a number of Screen Scene staff members have received nominations for this years IFTA Film and Drama awards!

First up — Nathan Nugent has received a well deserved Best Editor nomination for his incredible work on Lenny Abrahamson’s Room. Well done Nathan!

In the Best Sound category, our incredible team here at Screen Scene and Ardmore Sound picked up three of the four nominations for their work on Room, Sing Street, and The Hallow. Massive congratulations to Niall Brady, Steve Fanagan, Michelle Fingleton, Garrett Farrell,  Ken Galvin, Robert Flanagan, and Daniel Crowley on their respective nominations!

Keeping this hot streak going, Screen Scene VFX received two of the four nominations in the Best VFX category for their work on Frankenstein Chronicles and Ripper Street Series 3. Big props to named nominees Ed Bruce, Nicholas Murphy and Alan Collins, on their well deserved double nods!

Screen Scene posted features Room and Sing Street tied neck and neck with the most amount of nominations at this years event, eight each, with both films in the running for Best Director and Best Picture, while Vincent Gallagher’s delightful short Love is A Sting and Damien O’Donnell’s heart wrenching How Was Your Day (both of which were posted here at Screen Scene) are both in the running for Best Short film.

What a result! The 2016 IFTA Film and Drama awards are set to take place at the Round Room of the Mansion House on Saturday 9th April 2016.
