A DATE FOR MAD MARY in cinemas this Friday September 2, 2016

Screen Scene posted Galway Film Fleadh winner, A Date For Mad Mary opens in cinemas this Friday, 2nd of September.

Directed by Darren Thornton (who co-wrote with brother Colin) and produced by Ed Guiney and Juliette Bonass, A Date for Mad Mary follows Mary McArdle’s quest to find a date to a friend’s wedding, following a stint in prison. Determined to prove her right to a plus one for the big day, Mary’s attempts at securing a date lead her into trouble and emotional challenges.

The film has earned rave reviews since its premiere earlier this year, a selection of which can be seen below:

“There are a few 19th century Scandinavian playwrights who might envy Thornton and Akram their gifts for moulding personae.” – Donal Clarke, Irish Times

“Mad Mary is a delight, especially for its rounded supporting characters, its skewering use of language, and the pinpoint accuracy of its observations of life in this specific time and place.” – Jessica Kiang, Variety

“A Date for Mad Mary is an exquisitely written, delicately made and superbly acted gem that will only get better with age and reflection.” – Laura Delaney, RTÉ

Don’t miss your chance to see A Date for Mad Mary on the big screen this weekend!
