Congratulations to Knocklyon United FC on their Guinness World Record May 1, 2015

After an exhaustive and thorough vetting process, Knocklyon United FC have set a Guinness World Record for the most participants at a soccer training session, with 686 club members taking part. Check out the record being set for yourself in the feel good video below:

Filmed by with the technical help of our sister Company Observe and posted here at Screen Scene, it shows 550 players, across 39 teams and Nursery participating in a 35 minute training session run by managers, coaches & parents. With the organising team on the day setting out over 650 cones, 550 footballs, 300+ training bibs, 686 people in total were officially counted through the gate. The record attempt was held to celebrate the club’s 30th year in existence.

A huge undertaking, requiring months of planning and preparation, Screen Scene sound maestro and member of the Knocklyon United organising committee, Mark Fitzpatrick, had this to say about the incredible accomplishment:

“Once we announced our intention to try to set the record, everyone we contacted threw the weight of their considerable resources at us. As a community and voluntary club, we could not have made this happen for the kids, if it weren’t for so many people willing to help us. The video and end credit list shows the scale of what we have achieved. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, equipment, expertise and general goodwill to us.

Huge thanks are also due to Picturehouse, for giving us the use of their track ‘Sunburst’. It is the perfect track that makes our video something special. We at KUFC would like Sunburst to become our summer track, as soon as someone hears it, they think about our Guinness World Record. To enable this, we would ask all or friends and supporters to go to our Youtube channel (link above) from Monday 4th May, watch and like the video and pass it on. There are links to download Sunburst from iTunes and Google Play Store. Wouldn’t it be amazing to get Sunburst back in the charts? At only 99 cents per download it is definitely achievable. Lets get behind Knocklyon Utd. and Picturehouse to get ‘Sunburst’ back in the charts.”

Congratulations to everyone at Knocklyon United FC on their incredible achievement!
