‘FRANK’ receives five British Independent Film Awards nominations November 18, 2014

Huge congratulations go out to all the cast and crew of Lenny Abrahamson’s, ‘Frank’, which has received a whopping five nominations at this years British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).

Created by Raindance founder Elliot Grove back in 1998, the BIFA’s  ‘celebrate merit and achievement in independently funded filmmaking.

‘Frank’ has been nominated in the categories of Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor – Michael Fassbender, Best Supporting Actress – Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Technical Achievement – Music (Stephen Rennicks) at this years event, which will take place Sunday 7th December in central London.

For the uninitiated, ‘Frank’ follows wannabe musician Jon (Domhnall Gleeson), who discovers he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he joins a band of eccentric pop musicians led by the mysterious and enigmatic Frank (Michael Fassbender) and his terrifying sidekick Clara (Maggie Gyllenhaal).

Based on a memoir by celebrated writer Jon Ronson (who co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Straughan), the Element Pictures and Runaway Fridge production, Directed by the critically acclaimed Abrahamson (Adam & Paul, Garage, What Richard Did), underwent full Picture and Sound post here at Screen Scene and Ardmore Sound, with SSVFX providing all the visual effects for the film.
