Martha Meyler nominated for Best Editing award at this years San Francisco Web Fest April 22, 2015

Screen Scene’s resident life size porcelain doll, Martha Meyler, has been nominated in the Best Editing Category at this years San Francisco Web Fest for her fantastic work on four part Storyland series, Burning Wishes.

Directed by the brooding mound of alluring intensity known as Vincent Gallagher (who justly received a Best Director nomination for his efforts at the same event), Burning Wishes was written by Cian McGarrigle and stars Mark Doherty, Colum McDonnell and Barry Murphy.

The black comedy follows “ne’er-do-well brothers Seamus and Martin Geraghty efforts to honour their friend Paudie’s deathbed request and scatter his ashes at their favourite childhood spot. After letting him down in the past this is one promise to Paudie that Seamus is determined to keep, even when Paudie winds up buried instead of being cremated…”

Produced by Ailish McElmeel for Deadpan Pictures, with JJ Rolfe lensing and Barry Gorey supplying the music, the series was edited by Martha here at Screen Scene. Ken Galvin looked after the Sound Post, Warren Dowling onlined and Donal O’Kane was the HD Colourist.

Still available to watch on RTEPLAYER (at least for the next ten days), you can watch Burning Wishes right now for the cost of no money by clicking this EMBOLDENED LINK IN CAPS LOCK.
