‘Room’ nominated for London Critics Circle Awards December 22, 2015

Lenny Abrahamson’s Room received four nominations at this years London Critics Circle Awards, which were announced last week.

Room has been nominated for ‘Film of the Year’, with Brie Larson in contention for ‘Actress of the Year’, and Emma Donoghue receiving a double nomination for ‘Screenwriter of the Year’ and ‘Breakthrough British Filmmaker of the Year’.

Adapted by Emma Donughue from her own book, Room stars Brie Larson, Joan Allen and William H. Macy, in a harrowing story about a young woman (Larson) and her 5-year-old son, Jack (newcomer Jacob Tremblay) who have been locked in a 10-foot by 10-foot single room as prisoners for multiple years. The room is the only home Jack has ever known, but as his curiosity is building alongside his Mothers own desperation, she knows it can’t contain either indefinitely…

An Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production, produced by Ed Guiney and David Gross, the movie was was edited here at Screen Scene by Nathan Nugent, who was recently nominated for an Independent Spirit award for his incredible work. Full sound post on the film took place here at Screen Scene and at Ardmore Sound. Screen Scene also provided all the films VFX.

The 36th London Critics Circle Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday January 17 at The May Fair Hotel in London, England.

The film is set to open in the UK and Ireland on January 15.
