RTÉ’s Easter Rising documentary, 1916, proved a massive hit with audiences and critics when aired on RTÉ One in the first quarter of 2016.

The landmark three part series, narrated by Liam Neeson, gives an in depth overview of the Rising, looking at its impact in Ireland and around the world

Boasting incredible production value and featuring an incredible wealth of archive material the series has been been sold to 120 television stations in the United States and to the BBC.

Directed by  Ruan Magan and Pat Collins and Produced Jackie Larkin for Coco Television, where Linda Cullen and Stuart Switzer were the executive producers, the series underwent Full picture and Sound post here at Screen Scene.

Edited by  Isobel Stephenson, Stephen O’Connell, and Keith Walsh, with Paul Rankin assisting; Warren Dowling provided the online edit, while Donal O’Kane handled the grade. Michelle Fingleton was the series Sound Editor with Garret Farrell  doing his usual bang up job as the Sound re-recording Mixer. Aishling Vesey was the Post Production Supervisor.
