Nominated for four Academy Awards including Best Picture, Lenny Abrahamson's adaptation of best selling novel, ROOM ,underwent post production here at Screen Scene and Ardmore Sound in 2015.

Adapted by Donoghue from her own book, the film stars Golden Globe winner Brie Larson (best actress in a drama), Joan Allen and William H. Macy and tells the harrowing story of a young woman (Larson) and her 5-year-old son, Jack (newcomer Jacob Tremblay), who live in confinement in a 10-foot by 10-foot single room. The room is the only home Jack has ever known, but as his curiosity is building alongside his Mothers own desperation, she knows it cannot contain either indefinitely…

Nominated for three Golden Globes (including Best Picture – drama) with Brie Larson taking home the award for Best Actress, the film has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2016 Academy Awards.

An Element Pictures and No Trace Camping production, produced by Ed Guiney and David Gross, the movie was filmed at Pinewood Studios and on location in Toronto. and was edited here at Screen Scene by Nathan Nugent (nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for his incredible work), with full sound post taking place here at Screen Scene and at Ardmore Sound.

Screen Scene’s visual effects department, SSVFX provided all of the films VFX, with VFX Supervisor Ed Bruce and VFX Producer Kenneth Coyne overseeing our in house team as they completed over 70 CG breath shots, computer generated snowfall, monitor replacements and clean ups, all of which fit seamlessly into the final film.

Room opened in UK and Irish Cinemas on the 15th of January.
