Pat Collins acclaimed feature film, ‘Silence’, traces the psycho-geographical journey undertaken by an enigmatic soundman (writer and co-scenarist Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhríde) from his adopted city of Berlin to his native Donegal as he aurally documents landscapes free from man-made noise.

The film is a journey that ultimately leads our protagonist inwards, as he finds himself drawn to his childhood home. Silence unfolds with a quiet intensity, where poetic images reveal an absorbing meditation on themes relating to sound and silence, history, memory and exile. Produced by Tina Moran and Directed by Pat Colins, with a script by Pat Collins, Eoghan MacGiolla Bhride, and Sharon Whooley. Ken Galvin was re-recording mixer here at Screen Scene’s Centre Stage 1 with Tadhg O’ Sullivan serving as the picture and sound editor.
